An Underground Utility Construction Foreman plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the installation and maintenance of underground utilities such as water, sewer, gas, and electrical lines.

Here are some key responsibilities and qualifications for this position :

Responsibilities :

• Project Management : Plan and manage site development and construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Crew Supervision : Lead and supervise construction crews, ensuring safety and productivity goals are met.
• Safety Compliance : Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Quality Control : Oversee the quality of work, ensuring it meets project specifications and standards.
• Coordination : Communicate and coordinate schedules with general contractor, superintendent and subcontractor.
• Problem Solving : Identify and address operational challenges or issues that arise during the project.
• Equipment Management : Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment involved in utility work, such as excavators, pumps, backhoes, and loaders.

Qualifications :

• Experience : A minimum of 5 years of experience in underground utility construction, including both dry and wet utilities.
• Technical Skills : Proficiency in using construction equipment and understanding of trenching, grading, and shoring techniques.
• Leadership Skills : Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate crews.
• Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction.
• Safety Knowledge : In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
