GCC seeks to add a Union Grading Foreman to our team of skilled and dedicated staff. The Grading Foreman plans, coordinates, and manages onsite excavation crew to meet the daily and weekly goals for maximum productivity while maintaining budgetary constraints.

Solid communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines. Can help with entry into union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Oversee the progress of excavating construction sites.
• The intermediary between workers and supervisors.
• Scheduling and planning the excavating work for the day.
• Assigning tasks to field employees.
• Utilizing the correct machinery at the job site
• Making sure the excavating project is being completed in a timely matter.
• Overseeing and implementing health and safety procedures on the job.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

3-5+ years of experience as a Grading Foreman. Knowledge of job sites, crews, heavy civil construction, and excavating projects.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-employment background screening investigation results that are acceptable to GCC at GCC’s sole discretion.

• Reference and prior work verification.
• Drug / alcohol test (negative test results).
• Background / security clearance.
