Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained & Resource) - Ocotillo, AZ (School Year Contract)
Are you a passionate educator dedicated to helping students with diverse learning needs succeed?
We are seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in Ocotillo, AZ for the upcoming school year (August 5, 2024 - May 25, 2025).
This is a full-time (35-40 hours per week) on-site position offering a unique opportunity to work with students in both self-contained and resource settings.
Responsibilities :
- Self-Contained Setting :
- Provide direct instruction to students with significant learning needs in a dedicated classroom environment.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to address the unique needs of each student.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to promote student growth and independence.
- Create a positive and nurturing learning environment that fosters social-emotional development.
- Collaborate with related service providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to student success.
- Maintain accurate data and document student progress.
- Resource Setting :
- Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and implement IEPs for students with special needs receiving support within the general education classroom.
- Provide targeted instruction and support to students in achieving their academic goals.
- Consult with general education teachers on effective strategies for inclusion.
Qualifications :
- Must possess a valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained and / or resource setting (preferred).
- Strong understanding of child development, learning disabilities, and effective instructional strategies for SPED students.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and data analysis skills.
- Ability to create positive and supportive learning environments.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a varied caseload.
