The Implementation Specialist works with customers to implement various Descartes solutions. The most commonly implemented solutions related to this role include product master trade compliance and classification applications.

The Implementation Specialist participates in, and sometimes leads, customer projects. These projects typically consist of business process analysis, design, configuration, testing and go-live support activities related to the implementation of Descartes' solutions.

The Implementation Specialist is also responsible for training activities related to the implementation and deployment of Descartes' solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze and assess customer requirements.
• Analyze customer's trade compliance and product classification processes.
• Design and configure systems according to solution architecture.
• Analyze, design and test proprietary software applications.
• Apply knowledge of compliance operations and compliance software solutions to assist customers.
• Implement and configure Descartes' proprietary applications and solutions.
• Train customers on Descartes' proprietary products and solutions.
• Create and document future client business processes based on software to be implemented, including interface requirements.
• Interface with customer IT / IS department to facilitate software configuration and design changes.
• Respond to customer application problems and provide post-implementation technical support based on a detailed understanding of the functional conceptual features of Descartes' proprietary software and applications.
• This position will require up to 10% travel.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are Looking For Someone Who Has these Essential Qualities / Skills :

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Information Technology, Supply Chain / Logistics Management, or related field of study is required.
• Related work experience is required.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills that will be used to communicate individually and in team / group settings.
• Ability to operate independently in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
• Ability to quickly learn and work with technical concepts and Descartes's customers.
• Strong critical thinking skills, including participation in identifying suboptimal internal processes.

SQL :

Ability to understand SQL queries and stored procedures so as to be able to work with others on the team around technical data interface requirements.

Programming / Integration :

Ability to read / interpret XML documents.

Desirable Qualities / Skills :

• Ability to take on new challenges and learn new concepts and skills
• Strong project management and personal time management
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of relational databases

Salary Range : $70,000 to $80, 000 CAD. Compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only.

Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills as well as the years of experience you have.

Similar positions located in different geographic regions will not necessarily receive the same compensation.

Location : This is a remote position, open to applicants authorized to work in Canada or the United States.
