Job Title : Welder Multi-Technique Specialist
Department : Manufacturing / Construction
Pay Rate : $20.00 to $25.00+ DOE (Wage will be determined on weld test)
Swing Shift has an additional $3.50 per hour!)
Shifts and Openings : First week of training is to be on a Day Shift : 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm Monday Friday
After your 1 week of training you will be placed on the Swing Shift as a Welder Monday-Friday 3 pm- 1am
Job Summary : We are seeking skilled welders to join our team, specializing in the fabrication of industrial electrical control panels and structural welding.
This role involves welding metal aluminum boxes and performing structural welding tasks (4G and 3G welds) to construct frames for E-House units.
Candidates will be required to pass a weld test, including TIG and MIG welding on various gauges (12, 14, and 16) and heavy tubing (3 / 8 and 1 / 4 wall) to demonstrate their fitter skills.
The ideal candidate will also have experience working with a variety of materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, using multiple welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding.
This role involves fabricating and repairing metal structures and components, ensuring that all welds meet industry standards for quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities :
- TIG Welding :
- Perform Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding to join metals such as stainless steel and aluminum with precision.
- Set up and operate TIG welding equipment, selecting appropriate filler materials and shielding gases.
- Execute high-quality welds on thin-gauge materials, maintaining control over the weld puddle.
- MIG Welding :
- Conduct Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Set up and operate MIG welding machines, adjusting parameters to achieve desired weld quality.
- Perform welding on various thicknesses of metal, ensuring strong and clean welds.
- Arc Welding :
- Utilize arc welding techniques, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), to weld different types of metals.
- Prepare and align metal components for welding, ensuring proper fit-up and joint configuration.
- Inspect welds for defects and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Oxy-Fuel Welding and Cutting :
- Perform oxy-fuel welding to join metals, particularly in repair and maintenance applications.
- Use oxy-fuel cutting equipment to shape and trim metal components as needed.
- Safely handle and store gases and equipment, adhering to safety protocols.
- Specialized Responsibilities :
- Fabricate industrial electrical control panels by welding metal aluminum boxes and performing structural welding tasks (4G and 3G welds).
- Construct frames for E-House units, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with design specifications.
- Pass a weld test involving TIG and MIG welding on various gauges (12, 14, and 16) and heavy tubing (3 / 8 and 1 / 4 wall) to demonstrate fitter skills.
- General Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics prints, and welding procedures.
- Inspect and prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, cutting, and beveling.
- Measure and cut materials to exact specifications
- Perform post-weld operations such as grinding, sanding, and polishing to achieve the desired finish.
- Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and to specifications.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience in welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, arc, and oxy-fuel.
- Ability to read and interpret Schematic prints and Blueprints
- Competence in both manual and mechanical welding methods.
- Comprehensive understanding of metallurgy.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Knowledge of welding safety practices and ability to adhere to safety guidelines.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of welding tasks.
Work Environment :
Exposure to noise, fumes, and heat is common in this role.
