The Collections Specialist is responsible for billing, tracking, and collecting cost share and / or copays from individuals as part of the company’s financial management services contracts.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and bookkeeping, as well as a keen interest in financial management and healthcare billing practices.
Patient Billing and Collections :
oGenerate and send out participant invoices, cost shares, and copay statements in a timely manner.
oMaintain accurate and up-to-date billing records for each individual.
oFollow up with participants to collect outstanding balances through various communication channels, including phone, email, and mail
Payment Processing :
oReceive and process payments from patients, including checks, credit card payments, and electronic funds transfers.
oEnsure that payments are accurately recorded and posted to the appropriate accounts.
Account Reconciliation :
oReconcile patient accounts to resolve discrepancies and billing errors.
oInvestigate and resolve any issues related to unpaid or partially paid claims.
Financial Reporting :
oPrepare regular reports on accounts receivable, including aging reports and collection status.
oProvide detailed financial information to management as needed for decision-making.
Compliance and Documentation :
oStay up-to-date with healthcare billing regulations, including HIPAA and other relevant compliance standards.
oMaintain detailed and organized records of patient interactions and collection efforts.
Customer Service :
oProvide excellent customer service by addressing participant inquiries and concerns regarding their billing statements.
oEducate participants on their financial responsibilities and payment options.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is necessary, specifically Microsoft Excel
