The newly developing Social Work program within the College of Nursing at Washington State University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, career-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Richland, Washington at our Tri-Cities campus.

This position will have a primary focus on teaching and course content development that aligns with accreditation requirements.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will begin Fall 2024. This position will be based at our Tri-Cities campus with the expectation of being on campus weekly.

This position is expected to be located in Tri-Cities, WA.

Required Qualifications Teaching Assistant or Teaching Associate Professor :

An earned Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)

A minimum of two years of full-time practice post master’s degree

Candidates must have and maintain an independent clinical social worker license in Washington State holding a MSW from a CSWE accredited institution by time of hire.

Those who are eligible for licensure in Washington State within 6 months will be considered.

Demonstrated excellent communication abilities in written and verbal forms.

Demonstrated service experience in one or more of the following : in academia, in professional organizations, agencies or in their communities.

Proven or potential for successful teaching and instruction.

Additional Required Qualifications - Teaching Associate Professor :

Currently serving in the rank of an Associate Professor or equivalent at a post-secondary institution.

Required Qualifications Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor :

An earned Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)

An earned PhD, DSW or doctoral degree in social work or related field

A minimum of two years of full-time practice post master’s degree

Candidates must have and maintain an independent clinical social worker license in Washington State holding a MSW from a CSWE accredited institution by time of hire.

Those who are eligible for licensure in Washington State within 6 months will be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications - Clinical Associate Professor :

Currently serving in the rank of an Associate Professor or equivalent at a post-secondary institution.

Preferred Qualifications - All Ranks, Teaching or Clinical Career track :

PhD or doctoral degree in social work or related field

Familiarity and experience in social work offered in rural Washington state.

Experience teaching in programs delivered to students across multiple settings with an obligation to consider regulations and requirements in bordering states.

Ideally, candidates will reflect the teacher-scholar model with demonstrated passion for teaching and enthusiasm for research that involves undergraduate and graduate students.

Demonstrated experience managing field experiences for undergraduate social work programs.

Assistant Professor Rank : $71,750.00 - $77, 388.00

Associate Professor Rank : $81,488.00 - $87,125.00

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
