Position Overview

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief of Staff will play a crucial role in supporting the entire senior leadership team.

This position requires a unique blend of operational excellence, strategic thinking, and project management skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management and the ability to navigate complex business challenges in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesExecutive Support and Strategic Initiatives

  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, providing high-level support on critical business decisions and initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with all members of the senior leadership team to align operations across departments with overall business objectives.
  • Develop and implement cross-functional projects to drive company growth and efficiency.
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the CEO and other senior leaders.

General Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth functioning across all departments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with department heads to streamline operations and resolve cross-functional challenges.
  • Manage key vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures.
  • Implement and oversee quality control systems.

Project Management

  • Lead and coordinate major company initiatives and projects.
  • Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
  • Identify potential roadblocks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Performance Management and Reporting

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across all departments.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on operational performance for the executive team and board.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement data-driven decision-making processes across the organization.

Organizational Development

  • Work with HR to develop and implement strategies for talent acquisition and retention.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a positive company culture.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental communication and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in operations management or a similar role.
  • Experience in a high-growth tech startup environment.
  • Strong understanding of the freight and logistics industry preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects and driving results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and data analysis software.
