Responsibilities :
- Lead a large project or oversee a team managing multiple projects, serving as our client’s senior representative and primary point of contact for high-value construction efforts.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the entire project team, delegating responsibilities and mentoring team members to develop their skills.
- Implement lean tools and methodologies such as A3 development, choosing by advantages, and 5-why analysis.
- Facilitate effective Last Planner System sessions and quickly learn and teach lean principles and processes.
- Coordinate design, trades, and subcontractor interactions to ensure smooth project execution.
- Apply established policies and procedures while taking responsibility for key project decisions and addressing issues that arise.
- Develop and implement procedural systems and strategies to ensure continuous improvement in both the team’s and project’s performance.
- Build long-lasting client relationships and develop a portfolio of repeat clients.
- Assist with securing future work by supporting the sales team during project pursuits, providing input on estimates, and engaging with clients.
- Consistently communicate project status and job-related updates to clients.
- Manage critical project functions such as equipment selection, subcontractor procurement, and budget tracking.
- Handle budget analysis, cost projections, manpower planning, change orders, and construction plans.
- Negotiate and manage contract change orders, overseeing any cost-related issues.
- Understand and execute Connected Solutions strategies.
- Lead project reviews and presentations to division leadership on a monthly basis.
- Engage in relevant industry organizations (e.g., DBIA, LCI, CPMCA, ASHRAE, ASPE).
- Own the project contract and mentor the team on how to operate within its scope.
Qualifications :
- Proven ability to manage large-scale construction projects or simultaneously oversee multiple projects.
- Demonstrated success in training and developing project teams.
- Strong skills in proactive project planning and execution to drive positive project outcomes.
- Experience leading preconstruction activities on major projects, including value engineering analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC and Plumbing) relevant to large construction projects.
- Ability to estimate large jobs in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with all levels of management and lead sales presentations.
- Leadership skills that drive a sense of urgency and results within the project team.
What You Bring :
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management with at least 10 years of related experience, or 15-20 years of experience in Construction Management.
- Experience managing large Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) projects.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as CAD drawings, blueprints, and submittals.
