GIS Analyst

Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a GIS Analyst on behalf of our client, a Pittsburgh area Civil Engineering consultant.

Job Summary : The GIS Analyst must have a GIS background, be well-versed in ArcGIS Online applications, that will act as coordinator for their Municipal Clients to increase client usage / understanding of the program and its capabilities.

This candidate would be a part of the GIS staff and would work closely with internal company Client Managers (engineers) as well as the rest of the GIS 's growing GIS department and interest from the candidate, this position could be modified to include the responsibility of managing the GIS staff and their workloads.

Types of Projects : Importing of construction as-built geometryProviding shapefiles to assist in surveysCreating exhibits for various applications (construction projects, grant applications, design reports)Stormwater and Sanitary Sewer data processingRequirements : Two (2) + years GIS experience.

Experience using ESRI ArcView software : ArcMap, ArcToolbox, and ArcCatalog, ArcGISPro, ArcGIS Online and associated applications;

including geoprocessing, cartography, spatial / data analysis, and map topology functions; familiar with relational databases in Microsoft Access and ArcView.

The following experience is preferred : Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS version 10.x products, including Basic, Standard, and AdvancedKnowledge of geodatabase creation and data management in ArcCatalogDevelop and automate processes through model builder and Python scriptsKnowledge of ArcGISPro 2.

x and integration with ArcGIS OnlineKnowledge of ArcGIS Online platform as well as Survey 123Ability to extract data for analysis and interpretation, including international business dataDemonstrated ability to work independently, as part of an integrated teamDemonstrated ability to proactively communicate, speak, and write professionallyDesire to work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining scheduled tasks, troubleshooting issues, and developing solutions Additional Skills : Experience managing and completing post processing of GPS dataExperience in field data collection using Trimble GPS unitsExperience with programming and scripting (Python, Shell, VB, JavaScript)Familiarity with ArcGIS ServerExperience with ESRI's SDE, SQL Server, other relational databasesExperience creating Macros in ExcelExperience with Microsoft AccessFamiliarity with the concepts and software of Asset Management Systems, experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or AutoCAD Map and the use of geographic concepts and formats inside of these programs a (BS / MS Geography) preferred.
