Description
Provides optimal pharmaceutical care for patients and oversees drug distribution systems.
Principle Responsibilities
Reviews medications.Ensures safe, timely and cost-effective utilization of medications.Provides clinical / information services to patients and medical staff.
Reviews clinical data on patient profile for possible drug interactions and over / under utilization.Monitors prescriptions to assure appropriateness.
Prescription Filling.Evaluates appropriate medical dose, route, frequency and administration.Performs quality assurance.
Effectively prioritizes work to meet customer promise times.
- Provides counseling and consultation.Counsels patients and care-givers on all new medications and on refills and OTC products, as needed.
- Provides medication education and patient care service.Provides clinical pharmacotherapeutic recommendations for patient care and / or cost efficiency medication decisions based on procedure or scope of practice.
Provides medication therapy management to patients in order to improve adherence and support positive outcomes.
Provides direction and training.Completes controlled substance audits as directed.Coaches and trains pharmacy staff members in partnership with Pharmacy Supervisor and Lead Pharmacist.
Takes accountability and resolves next-level escalations on customer service issues.Ensures all legal and privacy requirements are met.
Follows legal standards in all areas including, but not limited to, work rules, controlled substance requirements, state and federal regulations, and HIPAA regulations.
Documents and complies with standards for any active accreditations.
- Reduces audit risks through proper checks, such as days supply, signatures, dates, take as direction, and returns-to-stock.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy OR PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy
- 0 to 2 years of identified pharmacy experience
Preferred Qualifications
2 to 5 years of retail pharmacy experience
Licenses / Certifications
- Licensed Pharmacist - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire if working in MN
- Licensed Pharmacist - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services required upon hire if working in WI
