Sanctuary Recovery Centers is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Compliance to lead and oversee compliance efforts for our Behavioral Health Residential Facilities (BHRFs), Outpatient Clinic, and Sober Living Homes across Phoenix, Arizona.

Position Summary :
As the Director of Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring that Sanctuary Recovery Centers remains fully compliant with AHCCCS, DHS, and JCAHO standards, along with all other federal, state, and local regulations.
You will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive compliance policies and procedures to uphold the highest standards of care in our treatment programs.
Your role is critical in identifying potential risks, driving corrective action plans, and supporting the leadership team in achieving and maintaining licensure and accreditation.
You will foster a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, and collaboration throughout the organization, ensuring that all staff are aligned with our compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensure Compliance with AHCCCS, DHS, and JCAHO : Maintain in-depth knowledge of Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), Department of Health Services (DHS), and Joint Commission (JCAHO) standards, and ensure all facilities and programs meet regulatory requirements.
- Policy Development & Implementation : Develop, update, and implement compliance policies and procedures for all Sanctuary locations.
Ensure that staff across BHRFs, outpatient clinics, and sober living homes adhere to these guidelines.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation : Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance risks and areas for improvement.
Develop and implement corrective action plans when necessary to address any areas of non-compliance.
- Licensure & Accreditation Oversight : Lead efforts to maintain and renew all necessary licenses and accreditations, ensuring Sanctuary Recovery Centers remain in good standing with regulatory bodies.
- Training & Communication : Ensure all staff are regularly trained on compliance matters, including updates to state and federal regulations.
Promote open communication and transparency, fostering an environment of trust and accountability.
- Reporting & Documentation : Prepare and submit timely reports to regulatory agencies as required. Ensure all documentation is thorough, accurate, and accessible for audits or legal purposes.
- Audit Coordination : Coordinate internal and external audits, responding to document requests and implementing any recommended procedure changes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with clinical and operational leadership to ensure seamless integration of compliance initiatives into daily operations.
Qualifications :
- Experience : 3-5 years of experience in compliance management within the behavioral health field, with a strong focus on AHCCCS, DHS, and JCAHO regulations.
- Leadership : Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to inspire, guide, and manage teams effectively.
- Regulatory Knowledge : Expertise in state and federal regulations governing behavioral health, including AHCCCS standards, DHS licensure requirements, and JCAHO accreditation processes.
- Education : Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, law, or a related field
- Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication, attention to detail, strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to foster strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Technology : Familiarity with compliance software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
