Job Summary & Requirements
Job Summary :
Inspects rolls of printed products to ensure customer specifications and quality standards are met. Operates equipment to final finish products, and prepares the product for shipping by performing the following duties
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
- Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
- Sets up and operates a variety of equipment to rewind, slit and inspect products or to cut products as per customer specifications and plant standards so they are ready for packing and shipping.
- Responsible for removing and replacing defective products; discusses with supervisor.
- Splices rolls and rewinds if needed.
- Reads, understands, and follows work instructions, in conjunction with current departmental policies.
- Works efficiently and effectively to meet schedules and ship dates.
- Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Assists in packing, as needed.
- Operates hand tools and hand trucks.
- Must be able to work independently, without assistance.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Ability to read and write comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to address issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas, information and or work assignments with co-workers and management as needed.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
- Ability to read a standard ruler to 1 / 32 and a metric ruler to 1mm.
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements :
Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.
Frequently lift and / or carry up to 50 pounds and push / pull up to 125 pounds.
Requires constant movement and bending.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, chemicals and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
