Position Summary
Surgical Tech provides assistance to medical staff during surgical cases by preparing operating rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment, performing necessary counts at the appropriate times, passing instruments to surgeon during surgical procedures, and assisting with cleaning of operating rooms.
Provides service to patients throughout the life span including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric age groups.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education : High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a surgical technician school required. Minimum Experience : At least one year experience in the operating room within an acute care facility.
For cardiovascular program, minimum one year experience on open heart team required. Certification / Licensure : Current CPR certificate.
Current Surgical Technician Certificate required.
Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
