Job Summary
Responsible for timely & accurate preparation of financial data to provide useful information to Management for review & decision making.
Principal Responsibilities
- Perform monthly profit center analysis based on understanding of accounting principles and the business operation.
- Prepare month end accruals. Prepare month-end journal entries and system reconciliations. Perform monthly and annual commission analysis and reports.
- Verification that all collections are appropriate and perform research with benefits carriers and field consultants. Responsible for the accuracy of reporting revenue from the cash to accrual basis.
- Administer master broker payments process including controls, analysis, contracts, and opportunity for company savings.
- Prepare employee benefits budgets, projections and producer results. Participate in financial meetings and requests within and outside of the organization.
Other Functions
- Attend meetings, in-house training or other business events
- Stay up to date on responsibilities, tasks and procedures for the Accounting department
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Strong financial and accounting skills including the ability to analyze data and problem solve.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct business and perform job responsibilities with the highest level of confidentiality, discretion and trust.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a high attention to detail and dedication to producing an accurate and timely work product.
- Independent, flexible, self-starter who can multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate or higher Excel skills
- Experience in the insurance industry and / or with Sagitta or other large agency management systems is a plus
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship.
Working Conditions
Office environment with moderate noise level; able to work flexible hours if needed.
