Summary

This position is responsible for managing multiple alliances with supervision and is independently responsible for managing and directing the activities for alliances with minimal supervision, as assigned.

This position assists with the planning and allocation of required resources to ensure effective relationships and help maximize the value of our partnerships.

This position implements process improvements and assists in risk identification, escalating issues as necessary. This position resolves alliance conflicts with supervision and solves routine problems using experience and judgment;

seeking guidance for non-routine decisions.

Responsibilities

Partnership Management : Manages multiple alliances with supervision and manages governance of alliances independently.

Becomes familiar with relevant therapeutic areas and development stages of alliances and builds stakeholder knowledge of key alliance-management activities.

  • Relationship Management : Establishes trusted relationships with key partners and other alliance stakeholders (e.g., function head, project lead).
  • Contracts : Reviews and provides input on alliance-management related provisions of contracts prior to approval. Can read and understand legal contract language, with some support for more complex provisions.
  • Conflict Identification and Resolution : Identifies potential project risks and implements appropriate resolution and / or escalates as necessary.

Contributes to the design of process improvements. Supports internal alignment of conflict management and leads resolution process, with supervision.

Educational Qualifications (from an accredited college or university)

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • PhD preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • 10 or more years pharmaceutical-industry experience or commensurate education / experience preferred
  • 4 or more years alliance-management experience, and an understanding of pharmaceutical development, project management, and new product planning. preferred
  • Experience working in or with multiple functional areas within a pharmaceutical organization preferred

Travel

Ability to travel up to 20%
