Position Overview
The Head of Corporate Accounting main responsibility will be to assist the Chief Financial Officer with the day-to-day corporate accounting operations including AP.
Principal Accountabilities :
Ensure a strong internal control environment to provide integrity within the financial reporting of all Angel Oak entities.
This includes the establishment of policies and procedures.
- Ownership of the corporate General Ledger system including closing of GL each month.
- Assist Angel Oak owners, business unit executives, and the CFO in managing revenues and expenses throughout thebined entity.
Makes rmendations to influence corporate decisions.
- Provide Treasury management services to all Angel Oak affiliates.
- Corporate Reporting including internal, external reporting, and consolidated reporting. Also, includes the establishment of reporting metrics and reporting of metrics.
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, regulatory reporting, and other reporting as needed.
- Management of audits for Angel Oak Asset Management business.
- Management of tax returns for all Angel Oak affiliates.
- Management of Corporate Valuations.
- Management of Corporate Insurance Program along with AO legal.
- Create efficiencies within accounting processes and implement best-practices within processes.
- Work closely with owners financial and tax advisors
- Insurance management : ensure insurance coverage for all entities and functions
- Payroll oversight and management
- Manage workplace efficiency through third-party offshore contractors
Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, particularly as it pertains to asset management business
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting
- Minimum 10-15 years of work experience in corporate accounting
- Ability to manage AP, GL system and financial reporting
- Strong, organizational skill set required
- Be able to operate effectively and efficiently in an environment with numerous deadlines and demands
- Expertise in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience of working with Oracle Financials and / or NetSuite, including developing functional specifications and assisting with configuration of the application, creating and enhancing system end-user documentation to support new system implementation, incident management
- Must be able to maintain privacy standards of sensitive information
- Systems conversion experience would be a plus
- Ability to manage third-party offshore resources
