Survey Project Manager
Location : Edison, NJ
Position Overview : We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Survey Department, reporting directly to the Principal Land Surveyor.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in managing projects within a schedule-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Coordinate multiple survey projects, including tasks like estimating and proposal preparation.
- Manage business operations, including preparing billing reports and invoicing.
- Perform quality control reviews, enforce safety and quality assurance procedures, and conduct final QC of all survey documents.
- Occasionally visit project sites. Our company provides survey services in NJ, NY, and PA.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of all land surveying phases, including boundary analysis, topography, survey control networks, and GPS.
- Oversee the entire survey process, including technical aspects, staff management, and scheduling.
- Provide supervision and guidance to field crews and office staff, and liaise with client representatives and internal engineering project managers.
Experience Required :
- At least 7 years of diverse land surveying experience, including client meetings, budget and schedule management, and field staff coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, Leica LGO / Infinity, Leica robotic total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly motivated to deliver high-quality work, with extensive knowledge of boundary, topographic, control, and construction survey practices.
- Ability to pass a company background check.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree.
- Experience with MicroStation and Carlson Survey software.
- New York Professional Surveyors License.
- Experience with NYC agencies and city surveys is preferred.
