Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio.
Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services.
Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.
The Director of Training & Workforce Development is responsible for both designing and conducting cohesive training and development programs to improve individual skills and organizational performance.
Training and development programs should be responsive to agency and regulatory goals, and consistent with our trauma-responsive culture.
This position requires collaboration across all departments and programs within the agency. This position requires a self-directed employee who proactively research, designs, and effectively implements a dynamic program aiming to educate, enhance performance, and increase retention through competency and job satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- This position’s primary function is to build and maintain a people-first approach to training which targets closing the gap between what the employee can do and what the organization needs them to do
- Conduct work-related training and development programs to support the needs of the employees and the organization
- Continuously evaluate and identify skills the organization needs to remain credible and competitive
- Use training, development, and intentional employee input to inform the content and delivery of professional development opportunities
- Oversee learning and development, leadership, and succession planning including ensuring training requirements are met according to applicable CARF, agency, state & / or federal guidelines.
- Serves as administrator and vendor point of contact for Learning Management System
- Reviews summary evaluations & test results of trainings & surveys; responds to requests from supervisors and employees who identify training needs and maintains training records.
- Leads initiatives that drive organizational performance, productivity, and job success for the agency
- Collaboratively works with departments such as Human Resources to aid in creating, sustaining, and retaining a viable workforce
- Leads the development of tools and instructional supports intended to increase competency and fidelity.
- Evaluates organization skill gaps and training effectiveness across the organization
- Plan and take primary leadership role in championing agency training across various platforms.
- Leads the development of audits, trackers, and other performance management tools to guide recommendations.
- Participates in self-directed learning initiatives to ensure skills remain sharp and knowledge of regulatory requirements is kept up to date.
- Supervises staff within the Training and Workforce Development department

- Administers targeted trainings identified to meet essential competencies and continued professional development
- Maintains current training audits across the agency for increased accountability
- Relias Administrator (LMS) and manager of training plans and transcripts
- Continuing Education Administrator (CEUs)
- Provides a monthly Training Development Retention report to direct supervisor monthly
Requirements
Position Qualifications :
- BA in applicable field or 3 years of relevant experience in a related field
- 3+ years’ experience in Health Care preferred
- 3+ years' experience in project management, training, and leadership preferred
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer
- Must hold a valid driver license and have the ability to transport self between agency locations
- Must be able to lift, transport, and set up training-related equipment and materials
Those eligible to drive company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier.
Those who drive personal vehicles in the course of business must be able to provide proof of insurance.
