Job Purpose :
The Supply Chain Coordinator role is responsible for the conversion of production plans and schedules into actions by providing direction, guidance, and support to the production and warehouse teams.
Assume responsibility for meeting the delivery commitments related to releasing, scheduling, monitoring, and updating progress on schedule commitments.
Duties include directing schedule priorities and material to the production teams with a focus on schedule adherence, schedule improvements and controlling the production work / material flow.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, review, and follow up on all purchase orders, ensuring FXI specifications for materials and components.
- Coordinate and work closely with the shipping department on transportation of shipments for and receipt of indirect materials.
- Monitors, controls, & identifies opportunities for inventory improvements.
- Review and adjust open order reports to reflect accurate status for accounting projections.
- Establish and maintain strategies with legal department to provide NDA’s (Non-Disclosure Agreements, contract review and negotiations).
- Propose, coordinate, document, and lead corrective / preventive and CI actions (cost reductions),
- Report supplier’s performance to management, be involved in supplier review meetings, discussing supplier performance.
- Work to monitor and reduce supplier late delivery performance.
- Direct work to shipping clerks and notify end users of estimated time of arrival, and end users of delivery changes.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as needed.
- Schedule creation and execution.
- Ensures availability of resources.
- Prioritizes and collects required information for customer orders.
- Guides production team in schedule adherence to MRP (Material Requirements Planning).
- Interfaces with logistics team to include Shipping, Receiving, and Warehouse functions.
- Plan and implement cost reduction activities relative to inventory and material scheduling.
- Oversees cycle counts to ensure inventory record accuracy.
- Oversees purchasing and supplier development activities :
- Request bids and quotes as directed from other areas.
- Expedite current orders to ensure timely delivery in accordance with PO documents, and submittal of all required shipping documents (.
- Certificate of Conformity, COA’s, MTR’s);
- Submission suppliers for approval according to corporate policies (W9, COI and Supplier Information).
- Elaboration, communication, and ensuring procurement procedures are followed.
- Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of FXI.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing / purchasing / scheduling.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver to commitment in a fast paced, changing production environment.
- Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Experience with SAP
- Demonstrated ability to motivate people to get tasks accomplished.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations.
