Credit Quantitative Analyst
Job Description
Hilltop Holdings is looking for a Credit Quantitative Analyst responsible for assisting in the quality control function related Allowance for Credit Loss ("ACL").
Support will be provided in relations to model runs and documentation, UAT for model upgrades, committee presentations ensuring quality assurance of data utilized.
This role maintains a current, applicable Quality Control Plan utilized to monitor established organizational operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct quality control activities for ACL
- Serve as internal specialist to ACL team on quality control issues
- Develop and maintain a reputation of a high level of credibility as an effective and responsive quality control professional
- Ensure adherence to ACL quality control procedures
- Maintain communication with internal contacts (including senior leadership levels) as necessary to ensure expectations and timelines are met
- Assist in economic and industry trends research to inform recommendations of U.S and regional economic forecasts for each month and each quarter to senior management during Asset Liability Committee.
- Build and run data queries from multiple loan systems, and prepare data to be used as input reports used to support periodic enterprise stress test exercises, and stratify various financial and regulatory reporting disclosures for quantitative models in the ACL calculation.
- Support drafting in preparing and maintaining of ACL documentation each quarter, including attribution, materials for working groups, executives and committees, and other credit presentations as needed.
- Engage data governance partners to establish processes and procedures to maintain integrity of data
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required with a preference towards mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, data science, data analytics or related quantitative disciplines
- One to three years of analytical experience, with a broad based knowledge of banking industry including awareness of industry trends.
- Experience with Moody's analytic products preferred (ie. CreditLens)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated excellent analytical skills and strong detail orientation
- Displays excellent time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks successfully, be detail oriented and operate under scheduled project deadlines.
- Demonstrated judgment, and decision making ability with the ability to negotiate and influence decision making
- Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with various levels within the organization, influence outcomes
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle delicate situations with diplomacy and tact

Hilltop Holdings' Risk Advisory department provides independent and objective enterprise and operational risk management advisory services to assist management in the identification, measurement, and monitoring of threats to strategic and management objectives.
We apply a systematic approach to develop risk metrics, execute risk assessments, and evaluate loss events across Hilltop and its operating companies-PlainsCapital Bank, PrimeLending, and HilltopSecurities.
