The Marketing & Events Manager leads all aspects of marketing and communication initiatives crafted to generate guest awareness, traffic, engagement and sales for Starboard Luxury’s portfolio of luxury cruise lines.
They will use all potential channels to tell phenomenal stories about products, brands and experiences that guests can discover in the onboard boutiques.
The role also serves as primary liaison with the sales, operations and buying teams to coordinate the creation and implementation of events, activations and experiential moments that fit naturally into a luxury vacation environment and go beyond in store retail transactions.
What you’ll be doing :
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develops a messaging strategy and cadence for voyages of varying lengths prioritizing topics that will drive sales and memorable guest experiences.
- Ensures that all guest facing marketing and messaging related to the onboard boutiques adheres to each cruise line’s brand and communication guidelines.
- Partners with an internal creative studio to develop compelling copy and content across the following touchpoints relating to onboard retail goods and experiences for each cruise line in the portfolio : Print or electronic daily programsIn-suite television and other electronic devicesIn-suite forms and / or informationPublic area or in-shop television and / or other electronic devicesDigital signage and / or other advertising vehicles located throughout the shipPublic announcementsIn-store printed signage and story cardsPre- and or post-cruise communicationSocial mediaPress releases
- Leads all aspects of implementation of a scalable event strategy with defined objectives, goals and critical metrics to measure success involving key collaborators as appropriate.
- Reviews and approves all marketing and guest facing communication elements and / or activations associated with each cruise line account, collaborating with cruise line marketing teams as needed.
- Develops key campaigns to build and maintain high levels of customer interaction relating to product introductions, experiences and holidays.
- Crafts messaging and / or events associated with sale opportunities that are appropriate in a luxury boutique environment.
- May provide basic support associated with visual merchandising.

Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or any other related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in brand and / or product marketing
- Experience in developing compelling marketing, expanding the limits of technology to tell stories and bring innovative product experiences to life.
- Experience translating user insights into strategies and effective marketing campaigns, programs, and activations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Marketing background and experience that translates easily into a luxury, vacation, retail sales and service environment.
- Solid understanding of developing creative work.
- Proficient in working with partners to build effective campaigns and events.
- Some knowledge of the digital & social media spaces.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the core work hours of 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.
m. Monday Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Physical Demands :
Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing.
Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
