Key Responsibilities :
- Accountable for manufacturing operations for the Green River Mine facilities, including Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), production, cost, quality, and reliability
- Champions a safe work environment and ensures adherence to safety policies
- Aligns Mine Operations goals with site business imperatives through long-term planning; ensures alignment of Mine Operations with sales and operating plan for the business
- Accountable for developing and managing Mine budget, staffing, capital projects, and engineering, including prioritization of business events and initiatives
- Leverages Corporate and site resources to drive culture change, continuous improvement, and cost reduction
- Proactively monitors and manages costs; holds all leaders accountable for cost control
- Fosters team building and collaboration within and across the site
- Promotes and models open and honest communication
- Enforces the Performance Management Process
- Proactively coaches and develops team members with a focus on the growth and development of strong leaders and the talent pipeline
- Role model of culture and core values of the organization
- Develops and implements changes to improve productivity, reliability, and cost improvement
- Participates in site-wide leadership and decision-making
- Oversees asset management for Mine facilities
- Remains in compliance with all applicable laws and corporate requirements
Activities :
- Provides leadership with direction to implement EHS and mining standards and best practices to build consistency across Mine operations
- Develops the Mine production plan and manages results against the plan
- Manages Mine operations to meet the S&OP targets for the business, including EHS, production, cost, quality, and reliability
- Communicates with key stakeholders' business performance and strategic initiatives
- Ensures the integration and balance of production requirements across Green River operations
- Owns and enforces the ECS for Mine Operations, including establishing performance objectives and KPIs within the business areas and ensuring that they are reported daily, weekly, and monthly
- Accountable for developing, managing, and reconciling financial and business budgets, forecasts, and reporting
- Coordinates with Corporate and site resources to continuously improve safety, manufacturing costs, and technology
- Manages the Mine manufacturing assets, including the prioritization and authorization of capital and engineering projects
- Develops appropriate responses to performance trends
- Serves as a member of the negotiation team and partners with Human Resources in labor relations and contract administration
- Serves as a member of the Safety Leadership Team
Skill, Capability, and Educational Requirements :
- B.S. in Engineering required
- 10-15 years of mining experience required
- 10 years of management or supervisory experience required
- Underground mining experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and drive for results
- MS Office Skills, including Excel
The final determination on pay will be made by Human Resources and company leadership considering the candidate’s education, experience, past performance, demonstrated leadership, and influence.
