We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for its Park Ridge, IL location. This position can be performed remotely provided all required training is completed.

Ideally, the candidate should be located in reasonable proximity to one of our manufacturing facilities - Chicago (IL), Dallas (TX), Smyrna (GA), Cleveland (OH), Kent (WA), City of Industry (CA) , Jersey City (NJ), Chicopee (MA).

Williamsburg (PA), Mount Pleasant (PA), or Kirksville (MO).

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze and own financial information and related projects.

Prepare accurate and timely journal entries and schedules and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures are in place or communicated when not.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

Functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

Timely, accurately and appropriately record and analyze revenues and expenses associated with assigned locations and account.

This is demonstrated by full ownership of assigned areas.

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close processes
• Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare all monthly and quarterly account reconciliation assigned
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Prepare financial management reports as assigned, on time, in a complete and final fashion.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues

Other (Non-Essential) Functions

Includes functions which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be reassigned to other employees as part of a "Reasonable Accommodation" under the ADA.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
• Minimum of 2 years accounting experience
• Strong proficiency with Excel is a must (pivot tables, formulas, v-lookups, macros, and Nested IF Statements)
• Must be a self-starter, with the ability to own projects, suggest process improvements, and meet deadlines
• Exposure to manufacturing operations is highly preferred
• Ability to obtain a complete and total understanding of subject material before beginning any task or project.
• Able to manage time appropriately to be able to multi-task various projects and meet required deadlines.
• Able to effectively tell the story behind the numbers, the account rec or the journal entry prepared, especially when communicating to those outside of the department who may not be familiar with accounting terms and jargon.
• Ability to prepare e-mail messages, which are succinct and to the point and do not require the receiver to read the full thread.
• Ability to provide a thorough but concise response to management or field questions either in person or over the phone.
• Demonstrated ability to understand proper verbal and non-verbal etiquette and professionalism in departmental meetings
• Ability to apply the proper amount of planning, strategizing, communicating and execution to make each project successful

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

General office environment with intensive computer work and extended use of the computer keyboard and mouse.
