Position Summary :
Teach one (1) or two (2) section(s) of JCCC course CMGT-100 Industrial Safety / OSHA-30 in the Fall 2024 & Spring 2025 semester.
Conduct a 30-Hour OSHA Outreach Training course simultaneous with a 3-credit hour college course for Freshmen Welding (Metal Fabrication) students.
Classes would be weekly (on Fridays) in-person / on-campus, with a maximum 18 students per class.
Responsibilities would include both OSHA Authorized Instructor record-keeping and Trainer responsibilities in addition to College Instructor record-keeping, grading, testing, and related responsibilities.
Required Qualifications : Associates degree in occupational safety and health
Authorized General Industry Trainer for OSHA Outreach General Industry Safety and Health Training Program, holding a current Trainer card (which does not expire prior to June 30, 2023)
Please note that JCCC may assist with cost of trainings
Minimum three (3) years relevant safety, health, and / or environmental field experience
Safety, health, and / or environmental instruction or training experience
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to manage a classroom effectively
Ability to effectively interact with both a group and an individual, especially with young adults
Ability to remain organized and document pertinent information electronically
Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health or Master’s degree in occupational safety and health
CSP, CIH, CHMM, CUSP, or PE certification
Six (6) years diversified safety, health, and / or environmental field experience
Safety, health, and / or environmental instruction experience in a community college institution
