Essential Functions of the position are detailed below and include any physical requirements :
- Manages the daily operations of a Senior Center in collaboration with the Chicago Department on Aging (CDOA), Age Options, and the Village of Grayslake depending on the location of assigned site.
- Complies with agency / programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory licensing or accrediting bodies.
- Provides residents of the building and the seniors in the community with a wide variety of social, recreational, informational, advocacy, and coordinates for external partners to screen them for senior benefits.
- Plans and implements a variety of programs to promote the mental stimulation of seniors, including leading interactive activities, classes, trips, and parties.
- In collaboration with the congregate meals provider, orders meals for participants to ensure they are served a hot lunch daily.
- Works collaboratively with the building's Senior Service Coordinator to promote senior socialization, as needed.
- Provides seniors with the opportunity to interact with community leaders regarding relevant issues.
- Maintains up-to-date and accurate client files and databases, as required by agency / programmatic policies and procedures.
- Responsible for data entry and for compiling, updating, and submitting routine and ad-hoc reports, as necessary.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours.

Physical Requirements :
- Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling, or standing multiple times a day.
- Push and pull objects up to 25 pounds.
- Climb up and down up to 3 flights of stairs at a time.
- Lift up to 25 pounds.
Additional Requirements :
- Comply with program and / or Agency requirements related to background check, physical examination, drug testing, TB testing, driver's license, and reliable transportation.
- Agency-specified automobile insurance.
