Shipping & Receiving Clerk
General Description : This position is responsible for preparing and processing shipments and outgoing mail, conducting facility maintenance and receiving facility deliveries.
Core Duties and Responsibilities :
- Verifies and records incoming and outgoing shipments
- Prepares items for shipments
- Compares identifying information and counts
- Weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records
- Determines best method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
- Prepares packages for shipment; includes assembling containers, packaging, securing closure and affixing labels
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify issues
- Routes items to internal departments
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials, marketing materials and product
- Assists with facilities maintenance as needed
- Regular onsite attendance is an essential function of this position
- Additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements :
- HS diploma
- Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand and / or walk the majority of shift
- 1+ years in a mail / shipping environment a plus
