Job Summary : The Training Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the success and effectiveness of the afterschool program.

This position focuses on designing, implementing, and overseeing enrichment activities that align with the program's goals and cater to the diverse interests and needs of the participating students.

The coordinator collaborates with various stakeholders, including program staff, parents, and community partners, to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Training Director to implement program training catering to the needs and interests of kindergarten through 12th-grade students.
  • Assist in creating content that aligns with educational standards and learning objectives.
  • Identify and secure appropriate resources and materials. Ensure that sites are well-equipped with supplies and lesson plans.
  • Incorporate hands-on and experiential learning activities.
  • Support the training director in establishing assessment methods to measure the effectiveness of all programs.
  • Assist in delivering comprehensive training programs for staff and partners to ensure consistency and quality in program delivery.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in skills and knowledge and develop targeted training solutions to address these needs.
  • Schedule, organize, and handle all logistics for training sessions, workshops, and seminars, both in-person and online.
  • Maintain training materials, including manuals, guides, and multimedia resources, to support ongoing education and development.
  • Implement evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  • Work closely with Training Director and other stakeholders to align training initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Ensure all training programs meet organizational and regulatory standards and compliance needs.
  • Assist in training qualified site coordinators and coaches for the enrichment programs.
  • Provide coaches with ongoing support, guidance, and evaluation to ensure program quality.
  • Stay current with educational trends and best practices in enrichment programs.
  • Attend workshops and conferences to enhance own knowledge and skills.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient in Spanish preferred

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelors or equivalent years of work experience in education, physical education, recreation or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience developing and implementing expanding learning programs and or educational activities
  • At least three years’ experience working with youth required

Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Regular physical activity participation is required
