Bell Bank park Powered by Legacy Sports USA is proud to work with OVG facilities! We have an excellent and immediate opening for a Restaurant Chef opening in January of 2022.

Bell Bank Park is a 320-acre multi-use family, sport and entertainment complex of outdoor and indoor team athletic facilities geared toward high-energy entertainment and sports in Mesa, Arizona.

Responsibilities :

The Restaurant Chef will serve as the culinary lead in the restaurant for a premier food & beverage operation as well as menu design and meal preparation of the facility including restaurant and bar, catering & events, concerts, brick and mortar concessions, concession trailers, etc.

This position will work with the Restaurant General Manager to oversee front of house and back of house operations Additionally, assist the Executive Chef to execute purchasing, receiving, and producing.

This position will assist in overseeing the stewarding department, and maintain all culinary equipment including china, glass and smallware.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Prepares food to specifications before and during operations.
  • Properly measures and portions all food items. Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures.
  • Cooks all food to proper specifications in a timely manner.
  • Utilizes kitchen equipment to prepare food items such as : knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc.
  • Ensures proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly.
  • Ensures freshness and quality of all menu items.
  • Packages all products to proper specifications.
  • Performs opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines.
  • Keeps workstation and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked.
  • Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations.
  • Sets up and operates kitchen equipment.
  • Executes menus in accordance with brand standards
  • Maintains recipes to meet core standards.
  • Ensures team members have the tools necessary to complete their jobs.
  • Ensures show quality standards are maintained at all times.
  • Regularly obtains feedback from clients and guests to improve operations.
  • Supports and communicates Company initiatives.
  • Respond and assist in any departmental guest service issues.
  • Holds team accountable to steps of service to deliver great guest service.
  • Conducts daily walkthroughs in culinary areas for each event.
  • Continually gains culinary expertise.
  • Practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment.
  • Achieves daily sales and assigned cost goals.
  • Ensures that all security, safety and sanitation standards are achieved.
  • Employs good safety and sanitation practices.
  • Forecasts and adequately schedules team members to meet operational needs and desired targets.
  • Provides operational planning to ensure adequate products and equipment are ordered for anticipated business levels.
  • Displays a positive attitude towards team members.
  • Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale.
  • Uses all performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team.
  • Assists fellow team members when necessary.

Requirements

Minimum two years of formal culinary / quantity foodservice management training or commensurate work experience; minimum two years of culinary preparation experience;

minimum two years of culinary management / supervisory experience in a similar high volume foodservice operation with similar duties and responsibilities.

  • English reading, writing, math and computer skills required.
  • Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products.
  • Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more as business dictates.
  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts.
  • ServSafe Food Manager certified within 120 days of hire.
