Engagement Specialist - Onsite Work
This position reporting to the Director of Donor Relations plays a pivotal role in the coordinating and executing a variety of event and communication responsibilities and tasks for a variety of cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events throughout the year.
Working closely with Bronson Health Foundation’s (BHF) Engagement Officer overseeing events and Communication Officer, this position will manage multiple projects to ensure the success of our events.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to lift heavy items and boxes - up to 40lbs.
- Have a valid driver’s license in state of Michigan and reliable transportation to be able to drive to event sites multiple times.
- Education and experience equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in Event Planning, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in planning and executing successful events.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams, sponsors, donors, and community members.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding in social media planning.
- Creative mindset and innovative approach to event planning and promotion.
- A commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality when handling donor information and financial contributions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changes, and solve problems proactively.
- Comfortable utilizing and / or troubleshooting audio visual equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with Engagement Officer on strategy and planning of approximately 15 fundraising, cultivation, and stewardship events.
- Manage events tasks on the majority of events in collaboration with BHF Engagement Officer (Events)
- Lead event plans on specific events.
- Assist BHF Engagement Officer and BHF team in set up, management, and tear down of all events.
- Build relationships with and steward potential and current corporate partners and sponsors.
- Regularly attend event planning & logistical meetings that includes Bronson staff and executives, donors, volunteers, and community leader stakeholders.
- Lead the solicitation of silent auction items for fundraising events.
- Collaborate with BHF Communication Officer and BHF Engagement Officer to strategize, plan and execute event communications including social media and email messaging.
- Work with BHF Communication Officer and Bronson Corporate Communications department to request design needs for event invitations, signage, and promotional materials.
- Collaborate closely with BHF Gift Processing team to ensure accuracy with event and donor data.
- Bronson Children’s Hospital 5K Run & Walk : As our largest fundraising event, the event specialist will : Manage Bronson Children’s Hospital 5K Run & Walk route logistics that includes set up / tear down of the course.
Assist with 5K Run & Walk poster, postcard, and signage distribution and removal throughout our three-county service area.
Collaborate with Engagement Officer and Bronson Children’s Hospital Child Life team to steward in-kind donations from the community.
HOURS
Office hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8am 5pm with flexibility provided. Attendance at all events is required for this position.
Weekend hours are needed when events fall on the weekend (which, at present, is approximately 4-5 weekends during the year).
Evening hours are occasionally needed throughout the year when events fall into the evening.
