OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Senior Practice Resource Manager, the Practice Resource Specialist Corporate works in a collaborative team environment maintaining the integrity of data in all systems and assisting corporate attorneys on special projects and day-to-day functions related to practice area databases.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for tracking the Firm’s transactional matters (e.g., Banking & Credit, Capital Markets, M&A), entering and updating relevant information in the databases;
  • Coordinates with other Practice Resource specialists, attorneys and administrative staff to gather, maintain, update and export information in the databases;
  • Completes questionnaires for completed transactions to be input into the database;
  • Maintains completeness and integrity of the databases by performing research, processing data changes / updates, proofreading content for accuracy and performing cleanup data tasks in a timely fashion;
  • Maintains physical files accurately includes filing prospectuses and other offering materials;
  • Completes requests from attorneys for precedents in a timely and accurate manner from various databases and physical files;
  • Works closely with the Business Development department providing information related to the Firm’s closed transactions and used in submissions to legal ranking publications, attorney biographies and other marketing materials;
  • Develops and designs databases (additional projects);
  • Distributes reports regularly to Associates, Partners and other departments;
  • Transports documents to the Duplicating, Mailroom / Messenger or other Firm departments as required;
  • Works with various software to prepare spreadsheets, reports and presentations;
  • Works on updating and maintaining internal website for Corporate practice groups and departments;
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of Firm databases and software packages, as well as various third-party hosted databases;
  • Assists with communication and training efforts related to the practice area databases awareness and effective use; and
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • 1+ years of Corporate Paralegal experience preferred;
  • High level of comfort with various computer programs (i.e. Word, Access, Excel or similar programs). Experience and aptitude with manipulating programs and databases;
  • Strong client service skills, with the ability to promptly respond to incoming requests with a high quality professionalism with all patrons;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Able to obtain and administer accurate information;
  • The ability to solve problems relating to both technical issues and situations involving the coordination of lawyers and staff from different administrative departments;
  • Able to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
  • Must accurately record information in a neat and detailed manner;
  • Able to work smoothly with co-workers;
  • Must be detail oriented;
  • Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion;
  • Able to take and follow instructions, as well as, delegate tasks to others; and
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change.

The estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained.

Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and discretionary bonus(es), we offer a generous employee benefits package including, but not limited to, paid time off, medical, dental, vision care, 401(k) and substantial health club discounts.
