Maintenance Supervisor

Position Purpose :

Responsible for the supervision and continued development of the plant Maintenance Department, which entails associates, facility, and equipment.

Knowledge of OSHA requirements, procedures and possess excellent problem-solving skills necessary to maintain an orderly work facility.

Essential Functions :

• Drive a safety culture within the department and across the facility. Be proactive in identifying and addressing safety concerns.
• Supervise periodic and incidental machine maintenance to insure its completion in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Supervise direct reports activities including work rules, safety programs, attendance, and discipline. Establish and promote a participative environment and pro-active union avoidance program.

Seek ways to expand communications and associate involvement.

• Oversee completion of preventative maintenance schedules according to equipment manufacturer's recommendations, while ensuring that necessary components and parts are purchased as required or directed.
• Plan and implement corrective action in conjunction with management direction.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and local, state and federal regulations.

Education and Training

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related degree program preferred. Equivalent experience in applicable area is acceptable.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years mechanical, electrical and hydraulic maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting : welding, fabricating and assembly preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting metal cutting laser / plasma and forming equipment preferred.
• Understanding of PLC systems, familiar with Allen Bradley controls a plus.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements of OSHA, NEC NFPA and EPA
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills are necessary.
• Ability to use computer applications : Word, Excel, Oulook, QAD, Kronos, others as needed

Physical Demands

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position frequently.
• Frequently need to move about inside office and plant designated area.
• Minimal movement of hands, wrists, or fingers such as typing, filing, and writing.
• Frequently need to position self to lift miscellaneous items.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
• Push / pull 20-40lbs of force 40 feet

Environmental Conditions

• Work environment : office and industrial
• Frequent exposure to loud noises.
• Seasonal exposure to hot and cold working areas.
• Must be able to work in areas without climate controls at times
