Job Summary : The Vice Provost and Chief Information Technology Officer (CIO) provides vision, leadership, and accountability for the overall technology services and infrastructure on campus which include enterprise technology, instructional technology, network and computing support, systems development, and telecommunications.
Additional Department Summary : Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Provost, the CIO provides the visionary and operational leadership to enable a forward-thinking, enterprise-focused IT organization that champions the strategic use of technology to further the mission of the University.
This leader is tasked with fully evaluating the IT organization, including processes and structure, and creating a proactive, high service delivery environment.
Actively collaborates with colleges and divisions, administration, faculty, researchers, staff, and students, cultivating robust relationships and tailoring central solutions to meet the unique needs of each academic and administrative area.
Demonstrating a customer-centric approach, the CIO prioritizes driving efficiency, excellence, and innovation in alignment with the University's overarching goals.
Required Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree and fifteen (15) years of IT experience; OR master's and thirteen (13) years of IT experience.
Skills and Knowledge : Keen understanding of business operations and aligning strategies with organizational objectives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor delivery to varied audiences. Excellent critical thinking and organizational skills, and an exemplary attention to detail.
High level of personal integrity. Ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
Ability to influence and persuade without direct oversight and authority.
Preferred Qualifications : Master’s or Ph.D. in business administration, computer science, information technology, engineering, or other relevant field.
Senior-level experience with IT strategic planning, project management, budgeting, security, process transformation and innovation in a higher education environment.
Senior-level experience leading, motivating, building, and managing multiple IT teams in a complex environment.
