DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Our exciting and fast-paced downtown Oakland law firm is looking for an Associate Attorney with at least four years of civil litigation experience to represent clients in legal matters.

The duties of the Associate Attorney are to represent clients in legal matters either independently or under the supervision of one or more shareholders or a senior associate, including :

  • Provides effective legal consultation, services and advice to clients.
  • Represents clients in state and federal court and agency litigation / proceedings, at a level consistent with his or her level of experience.
  • Prepares all legal documents necessary for the effective representation of clients. Including, but not limited to, memoranda, legal briefs, opinion letters, and / or general correspondence.
  • Maintains excellent working knowledge of substantive law, state and federal judicial systems, including local court rules and procedures.
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, decision-makers, consultants and counsel.
  • Ability to work under strenuous and stressful conditions and be able to effectively respond to client, office, and court needs on short notice when requested.
  • Some travel required, occasionally for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to effectively research and analyze legal issues and formulate creative responses.
