We collaborate closely with our colleagues and clients to meet the challenges they face within the water resources and related industries, including energy, transportation, risk assessment, environmental management, sustainability, and resiliency.

The selected candidate can be based at one of the Stantec offices across the western U.S., and we offer flexible work arrangements (e.

g., in-office, hybrid, virtual). Preference would be one of the following locations : Sacramento, Walnut Creek, Rocklin, San Diego, Irvine, Pasadena, Denver.

Key Responsibilities

Work with project teams to figure out the optimal approach for using geospatial technologies to meet client needs, accurately estimate the corresponding level of effort, and then see implementation through to completion.

Approach each task, regardless of size and scope, as an opportunity to rethink the traditional ways data is collected, managed, visualized, and delivered.

Produce concise, clear, and compelling cartographic output, both dynamic and static, with a keen eye for aesthetics.

Develop, configure, and manage dynamic and impactful web GIS applications.

Balance an elevated level of creativity with adherence to proven company GIS standards and best practices.

Always be persistent and diligent about quality, both in one’s own work and the work of others.

Actively engage in the greater GIS community, both locally and beyond, staying aware of the state of practice, new tools and technology, and opportunities for growth.

Adapt to changes in project schedule, scope, and cost, and be willing to work non-traditional hours as needed.

Maintain a high regard for personal safety and the safety of others.

Qualifications

Capabilities and credentials

BS / BA degree

3 years' work experience as a GIS professional

Experience building and using a GIS to solve problems, present results, and graphically report analytical data.

Advanced skills using Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS for Desktop

Experience developing web GIS using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise / Portal, including Experience Builder, Dashboards, Hub Sites, Web AppBuilder, and GeoBIM

Mobile data collection, processing, and integration (Field Maps, Survey123)

GIS-CAD data interoperability and integration skills

Strong written, oral, and virtual communication skills for all levels of technical understanding

Enthusiastic, resolute, and self-disciplined to work effectively in an exciting, diverse, and challenging environment.

Self-motivated to continuously improve and learn new technical and consulting skillsets.

Candidates will ideally supply a portfolio of their work.

Preferred qualifications :

Database management and analytics (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Power BI)

Customization, automation, and extract, transform, load (ETL); Arcade, Python, FME, ModelBuilder, ArcGIS API

Experience with the ArcGIS Utility Network or possess Esri’s ArcGIS Utility Network Specialty technical certification.

GISP certification

Salary Range(s) :

$87,600 - $131,300 Min / Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI

$93,900 - $140,900 Min / Max Pay Range for postings located in WA

$87,600 - $131,300 Min / Max Pay Range for postings located in CA (SF Area includes SF, SJS & WLC)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Temporary / casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

Washington state employees are eligible to accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked except for Seattle employees who accrue sick leave in accordance with the city’s paid sick leave law.
