Technical Designer - Wovens & Denim (Freelance)

Responsibilities :

• Provide technical support for men's and women's denim and woven categories, ensuring clear communication and fit improvements.
• Develop accurate technical packages and graded specs.
• Apply expertise in pattern making, fitting, and technical commentary to improve garment fit and quality.
• Attend in-person and video fittings, take notes during fittings, and follow up on corrections.
• Review and evaluate fit samples from proto to production, offering detailed feedback.
• Conduct fittings and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired fit.
• Collaborate with production, design teams, and overseas counterparts to resolve technical issues and ensure specs are updated.
• Track sample approvals and progress, adhering to deadlines.
• Organize and maintain the sample closets to ensure efficient storage and accessibility.
• Maintain consistent fit standards across denim and woven products.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Apparel / Technical Design or related field.
• 4-6 years of experience in technical design, specializing in men's and women's denim and wovens.
• Strong knowledge of pattern making, grading, garment construction, and manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to conduct fittings, create specs / blocks, and make pattern adjustments independently.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PLM systems.

Compensation / Benefits :

The approximate hourly rate range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00. The offered hourly rate for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set and years of experience.
