C. Region. U.S. News & World Report has just released the 2023-2024 ratings and rankings, in which GW Hospital is recognized as a Best Regional Hospital .

GW ranks 5th in the region, which includes hospitals in D.C. and parts of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.

GW Hospital achieved "High Performing" status in two specialty areas, Neurology and Neuroscience.

In addition, GW Hospital receiving High Performing designations for the following 10 procedures : COPD, Diabetes, Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Kidney Failure, Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma, Lung Cancer Surgery, Pneumonia, Prostrate Cander Surgery and Stroke.

GW Hospital received the American College of Cardiology’s National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) Chest Pain Myocardial Infarction (MI) Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2023.

Main tasks include :

Ultrasound Technologist

The Sonographer reports to the designated leader within the Imaging Department.

  • As a Sonographer, you will provide clinical services according to ultrasound practice standards and act as a resource to students, residents, fellows and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.
  • To help achieve our mission, you will administer sound patient care practices according to hospital and department policies and procedures to ensure the safety of patients.
  • Your ability to complete ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations is essential.
  • Demonstrating safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines is of vital importance.
  • Maintaining equipment, exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition is required.

Qualifications

Qualification

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Able to speak and write English Fluently
  • Diploma from certified school of Radiology required.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Sonographer and acute care experience preferred.
  • Current RDMS license required.
  • Breast and Vascular registry preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
