The Industrial Maintenance Technician is entrusted with the upkeep of the Production facility. This role's primary duty is to conduct preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment according to set standards.
Additionally, the technician will contribute to achieving the production, quality, cost, and safety goals of the manufacturing operation and plant facilities.
Impactful Responsibilities :
- Execute various maintenance repairs and services, diagnosing breakdowns of machinery and production lines.
- Set up and dismantle machines as necessary, ensuring smooth operations.
- Perform daily plant maintenance, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and related functions on various industrial equipment and PLC.
- Conduct changeovers, and install motors, belts, drives, and other mechanical systems.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned work orders and coordinate special projects under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Adjust machines to ensure proper operation, following blueprints and CAD drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, necessary repairs, and downtime using PM's, SAP work requests, and PC-based systems.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, including GMPs and HACCP plans.
- Report food safety and quality issues promptly to authorized personnel.
- Adhere to relevant SOPs and corrective action procedures, notifying the supervisor of process deviations.
- Assist in monitoring work performed by outside contractors and maintain building systems.
- Participate in building and grounds maintenance, ensuring efficient boiler and water softener function by adding chemicals or salt as needed.
- Alert the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor to any unusual occurrences or potential damage.
- Operate within established expense limits and respond to maintenance problems around the plant via handheld radio calls.
- Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with visitors, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a science-related area preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial environment in a related capacity required.
- Proficiency in industrial electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V, 3-phase, mechanical, and building systems.
- Experience with PLCs, ladder logic, and troubleshooting control systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and pumping systems.
- Proficiency in welding and metal fabrication.
- Clear communication skills in English (both verbal and written) required.
- Good understanding of computer program functionality.
- Familiarity with food safety and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
