Job Description :
Conduct quantity takeoff and estimation for Commercial, State, and Federal Projects.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and evaluate project plans, specifications, bid documents, and other relevant documentation to identify what is needed to create an accurate bid proposal.
- Create accurate quantity take-offs based on the designed plans and drawings.
- Identify inconsistent issues, conflicts, and other issues within the bid documentation.
- Attend Site visits, project walk through, estimating meetings, etc. as required
- Consult with other departments' clients, vendors, and personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Work with department project managers to have questions answered and issues clarified.
- Submit material bid requests to vendors for proper quotation.
- Maintain complimentary relations with vendors.
- Prepare all necessary bid documentation, submittals, RFI’s, scope of work, bid proposal, etc.
- Properly prepare and present estimates to upper management for review prior to submittal.
- Maintain project status within the bid process and meet necessary bid submittal dates.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent, combined with field experience, electricians license
- Minimum of 2 years of electrical estimation experience on commercial projects valued at a quarter million or larger
- Strong mathematical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically, Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Experience in Conest Intellibid estimating software
- Experience with BlueBeam for Quantity takeoff
- Knowledgeable in current electrical codes and standards
- Skilled at reading plans
- Technical writing skills
- Communication skills
- Experience as an electrician is helpful but not required
- Experienced electricians with soft skills looking to move out of the field will be considered for this position
