Salary Range : $41,000.00 to $76,000.00USD
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
General Professionalism :
- Displays the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents and Agency personnel.
- Fully engages in educational, behavioral and clinical services to ensure that all students are receiving an appropriate and complete educational program.
- Provides a safe, attractive, organized, functional, healthy, and clean environment for student learning.
- Implements school policies, procedures and / or processes for the purpose of providing direction and / or complying with mandated requirements.
- Uses effective presentation skills when addressing students, staff, parents, and the community including appropriate vocabulary and clear use of visuals.
- Demonstrates sensitivity to the cultural diversity of others.
Administrative :
- Maintains visibility with students, teachers, and parents.
- Conduct meetings, as necessary, for the proper functioning of the school including staff meetings.
- Attends and participates in school-based safety review meetings and conducts announced and unannounced program safety checks.
- Establishes professional rapport with teachers, teacher assistants and teacher aides to increase staff engagement and commitment.
- Works with teachers to provide quality supervision, coaching and performance feedback for paraprofessional staff.
- Provides adequate professional supervision and appropriate staff performance evaluations.
- Evaluates teachers in a fair and consistent manner for the purpose of ensuring that standards are achieved and student learning is maximized.
- Coordinates and insures accurate time and attendance tracking for staff in their assigned classrooms.
- Ensures that communication between home and classroom is timely and appropriate.
- Attends all conferences regarding any child’s program that is not meeting the need of the child through regular program channels.
- Ensures significant program information or personnel problems are communicated to the Principal.
- Works on agency committees as assigned by the Principal.
- Completes in a timely fashion all records and reports as requested by the Principal.
- Performs various other job assignments as requested by the Principal or Superintendent.
Curriculum Coordinator :
- Oversees curriculum implementation for designated grade band.
- Reviews and approves the lesson plans for assigned classrooms.
- Insures implementation of lesson planning in classrooms, including the use of specially designed instruction and appropriate data collection procedures.
- Utilizes Off-the-Grid time to provide direct in-classroom consultation and demonstration of educational programs to coach and guide instruction within assigned classrooms by encouraging the use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials consistent with research on learning and child growth and development.
- Follows established procedures for evaluation and selection of instructional materials and equipment, making recommendations to the Principal concerning purchase and use of resources.
- Gathers information and forwards it to the Principal regarding materials needed to provide an appropriate learning environments for all students.
- Ensures that all classroom staff receive training in student’s rights / proactive behavioral supports and the restrictions on negative reinforcement, restraint and time out procedures.
IEP Coordinator :
- Proofreads all draft IEPs for assigned caseload to insure alignment within the document.
- Presents the special educational performance levels and needs for all assigned students to the Committee on Special Education.
- Ensures that each student's Individualized Education Plan and all education reports are completed and implemented within assigned classrooms.
- Conducts fidelity checks of Progress Monitoring to insure data collection procedures are followed and progress / goal achievement is accurately reflected.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- As reflected above : directly supervises employees, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws;
- general responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
addressing complaints and resolving problems.
