Do you have a desire to help the world's best Navy? Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking Engineers for the Site Mechanical Systems Engineering group.

The group is responsible for maintaining various mechanical systems : HVAC, Sanitary Sewer, Domestic Water, Deionized Water, and Boiler Systems at the Naval Reactors Facility. Primary Responsibilities :

  • Provide technical support for various onsite mechanical systems and develop maintenance procedures.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and peers.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Provides effective project management and accountability of engineering schedules.Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience;
  • or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience;

or Currently or previously NPE qualified; or CTE / ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (e.g. pumps, motors, HVAC)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have demonstrated ability to recognize and solve technical problems to ensure plant success.
  • Knowledgeable of Building Codes and Standards
  • Experience in development of technical work documents such as work scopes, specifications, or contract documents.
  • Work with engineers of varied disciplines to coordinate system interfaces.
  • Must be a self-starter, capable of effectively working both as part of a team and independently.

S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities : Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A.

Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.

FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
