SUMMARY
We are looking for an individual who wants to learn how to use a press and then once comfortable, will be able to help train others.
We promote from within, so we are looking for employees who want to stay with the company and grow into management roles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review job traveler received from the Shop Foreman for hinge specification and quantity.
- Compare hinge specification to hinge drawing.
- Verify the material to be used conforms to hinge specifications.
- Place sheared blanks inside of defined gauging in the tool.
- Cycle press to a pre-determined time to complete operation
- Inspect first part of the operation and if necessary, adjusts tooling to conform hinge to print
- Continue the operation for the lot per the Job Traveler
- Inspect the hinges, first, periodically and last for conformity.
- Tag lot, sign off, and move per job order or job traveler.
- Load, install and correctly set up the tools required.
- Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
- Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues.
- Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
- Maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance team.
- Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.
- Select correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor / lead assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and / or Experience :
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months, press related experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one (1) year of work related experience required.
- Experience welding is a bonus
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments

Work Environment
- Able to work a flexible schedule to include various nights, weekends and holidays.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
