We are seeking a Manager or Sr. Property Accountant to join their team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will take charge of managing all aspects of accounts payable, overseeing fund-level syndications and distributions, leading system transitions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.

This role compensates from $120 - 140K + bonus. To start this will be in office, but can be a hybrid office schedule once acclimated.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Lead the transition from current accounting systems to the Yardi platform, collaborating with IT and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition and integration of the new system.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Manage fund-level syndications, including capital calls, investor reporting, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Review and approve invoices, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Oversee fund-level distributions, ensuring accurate and timely disbursements to investors.
  • Train staff on the new system and develop procedures to optimize its use.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Possession of a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the property accounting sector.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in BlackLine and Concur software.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.
  • Able to perform various accounting functions effectively and accurately.
  • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Familiarity with auditing practices and principles.
  • Capable of handling billing functions efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using Yardi software for property management and accounting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar professional qualification would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
