Job Summary
The Human Resource Generalist ensures that all Human Resources processes and policies are implemented professionally and are aligned to the context of the Traction engineering & manufacturing plant environment.
Key to this is inculcating a culture of high performance, fairness and balancing organizational interests with employee interests.
Strong Administrative level using data gathering and reporting that support the HR day to day operations and HR business initiatives.
Job Description
Supports training and Development (including Occupational Health and Safety Assurance)
Reviews, tracks, and documents HR data. This includes compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
This includes tracking and running reports as needed examples. safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications).
Recruitment and Selection
Supports the process to recruit, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions;
collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. This includes job fairs, working with DOL and other agencies to meet our affirmative action plan.
- Inputs background checks and employee eligibility verifications for plant personnel.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed as a backup to HR Manager.
Compensation and Benefits
- Implement and ensure compliance to the compensation and benefits policies as determined for Traction.
- Handle payroll and unemployment processes - Analyze discrepancies and raise issues to the appropriate HR / Corporate level on corrective actions.
- Advise plant management on appropriate recognition programs for all employees.
- Managers staff wellness initiatives, HR fund and main resources for employee benefit questions for things not directed to corporate benefit staff.
Onboarding and Off-boarding
- Prepare new hire orientation schedules coordinating appropriate team staff and employee recognition programs.
- Ensure all US Traction location management are kept informed of new hires and exits.
- Ensure timely removal of exits as per the termination checklist.
Compliance and General support
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and best practices; reviews practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Balance employee and organizational interests when advising management on administrative items.
- Provide general administrative support to US Traction multiple locations as needed.
- Manages and maintains organization and employee data with strict confidentiality.
- Improves relations between staff and employees.
Preferred :
Proficiency with HRIS systems (preferably Workday)
Travel
Minimal travel is expected. 5% of the time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
Preferred : - Proficiency with HRIS systems (preferably Workday)
Experience
10 years related experience.
Languages
English required.
Range : 66K-85K DOE
