MIKA Tastes of the Riviera. Hospitality of Home. By Chef Michael White. Position Overview : MIKA is seeking experienced and polished Head Bartender to provide world-class service in a refined and sophisticated dining environment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a deep knowledge of food and beverage, and the ability to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
The Head Bartender will play a crucial role in the management and operation of the bar. This role requires a keen eye for detail, an individual with a robust understanding of bartending, including a deep knowledge of mixology, spirits, wine, and beer, as well as a strong ability to lead and inspire a team, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team in a high-end restaurant setting.
Key Responsibilities : Provide exceptional service to guests in accordance with fine dining standards. Engage in creative menu development and cocktail design.
Supervise and support bartenders and barbacks, ensuring their tasks align with operational needs and standards. Serve as the primary leader and oversee the bartending team, offering guidance, support, and direction to ensure a collaborative work environment.
Maintain the bar’s cleanliness and organization, consistently upholding and enforcing SOPs for the team. Provide comprehensive training to the staff on bartending techniques, guest service, and cocktail.
Handle guest concerns and special requests with grace and professionalism. Process payments, including handling cash, credit cards, and billing systems accurately.
Perform other duties as assigned. Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in compliance with restaurant policies and local regulations.
Adhere to all restaurant policies and standard operating procedures. Qualifications : 3 years of experience as a Head bartender / Mixologist in a fine dining restaurant Passion / knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails (mixology certification is a plus) Previous experience as a Bartender in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment.
Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure. Ability to work efficiently in a team and contribute to a harmonious service environment.
Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time. Ability to obtain and / or maintain all required licenses, certificates, or permits.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Working Conditions : Must have open availability and the ability to regularly report to work on time including on nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant.
Ability to work long days when required by business demands. Ability to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods of time.
Ability to frequently lift heavy items, including trays, up to 40lbs. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors. Compensation : Competitive hourly wage with opportunities for tips and service charges.
