Positions Contributionsto Work Group :
- 80% oftime spent to perform maintenance tasks on existing tooling(updates for compliance obsolescenceetc.).
- Complete differinglevels of engineering work as it relates to complex electricalservice tooling.
- Introduce new toolingsolutions asrequired.
Reason / motivation forrequest :
New position to provideadditional support for current engineeringneeds.
- Primary workload isaligned to support of existingproducts.
- New productintroduction is forecast to increase in comingyears.
Typical taskbreakdown :
- Correction ofexisting tooling issues in multiple areas can be updating anexisting tool for compliance regulations or for replacing existingtooling with replacementtooling.
- Creation ofelectrical tooling as requests come in from dealers or machineproduct groups.
Interaction with team :
- Daily interactionwith engineering team lead to report project progress and fortraining.
- Daily interactionwith other electrical engineering team members to understandprocess execution and bestpractices.
- Occasionalinteraction with other teams within Caterpillar and / or Suppliers asrequired for projectwork.
Workenvironment :
- 3days in the office 2remote oncecandidate is trained. Subject to change at any time due to needs ofa project or executivedirection.
- Working in officeenvironment Electrical Lab and Mechanical labasneeded .
Education &Experience Required :
Bachelorsdegree with 24 years hands onexperience.
Technical Skills(Required)
- Ability to understand complex wiring circuits for test equipment andmachines.
- Ability to readprints and understand requirements needed to produceparts.
- Basic computersoftware knowledge Excel Word Adobeetc.
- Project execution toa developed plan.
- Electricaltroubleshootingexperience on various circuits andcomponents .
- Experienceinstalling / working withharnesses onvarious applications (knows bestpractices).
- Testing of variouscomponents.

- Background in testpreferably on heavy equipment industrialautomotive.
