Position Overview : Mackenzie Stuart is collaborating with a leading company in the Machine Tools industry, currently seeking a skilled and experienced CAD / CAM Programmer to join their team in Maryland.
This critical role involves designing fixtures, solving technical issues, and driving process innovation within high-demand markets.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong background in CAD / CAM, and in-depth expertise in the Machine Tools sector.
Key Responsibilities :
- Customer Drawing Interpretation : Accurately interpret customer drawings and specifications, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Design & Development : Create and develop fixturing solutions, including component modeling and necessary drawings.
- Team Collaboration : Partner with machine operators, quality leads, and management to resolve machine-related issues.
- Project Support : Work closely with the quoting department on new project developments.
Requirements :
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent in a technical field.
- Experience : At least 5 years of experience as a programmer, 5 years as a machinist, and 3 years working with 5-axis CNC machines.
- Software Proficiency : Expertise in MasterCam and (preferably) SolidWorks software.
- Technical Expertise : Hands-on experience with Matsuura and Fanuc controls, along with the ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Programming Skills : Proficiency in writing and editing three, four, and five-axis programs for CNC 5-axis machines.
- Adaptability : Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment with strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
- Quality Assurance : Experience operating within AS9100 / ISO9001 standards, ensuring correct documentation, traceability, and lot control.
