Our Alarm Technician Apprentice is required to install, program, and / or maintain and repair security alarm wiring and equipment while ensuring work is in accordance with relevant codes for Guardian.
- Complete prewires and installations to the quality and standards listed in the Installation Guidelines.
- Physical presence in the office or field to accomplish these tasks, meet and work with others as required.
- Meet or exceed production requirements and maintain consistent learning throughout apprenticeship.
- Maintain the appropriate level and quality of all assigned tools. Technicians will also be required to provide their own tools such as drills / drill batteries, levels, measuring tape, toolboxes, and screwdrivers.
- Attend all required seminars, training courses, and classes assigned from management.
- Ability to learn to utilize all available resources to complete prewire / installation within the scheduled timeframe.
- Ability to learn to install or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment for residential and / or commercial sites.
- Ability to learn to follow blueprints of electrical layouts, residential layouts and building plans.
- Ability to learn to install or repair audio and visual smart devices, such as remote access locks, security cameras and / or smart burglar alarms.
- Follow blueprints of electrical layouts, residential layouts and building plans.
- Respond to emergency situations during work hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety / security concerns.
- Ability to learn to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems through various troubleshooting techniques.

- Keep a stocked, neat, and accurate inventory.
- Adhere to all paperwork processes and deadlines.
- Provide consistent excellent customer service to promote superior customer satisfaction.
- Work towards obtaining the skillset required for moving to Alarm Technician 1.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Vocational or trade school courses in electrical, electronic or communication systems, network programming and wiring preferred.

- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
- Requires ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at waist.
- Must be able to climb a minimum of 30-foot ladder.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposed to seasonal weather based on geographic region.
- Exposed to moving parts and electricity that require safety protocol.
- Exposure to varied driving conditions
