The Technology Coordinator is a hands-on role and is responsible for ensuring the user experience is both positive and predictable.
The position requires an understanding of organizational requirements and the ability to identify the practical implications and system capabilities related to achieving program goals.
The Technology Coordinator will have responsibility for implementing IT-related policies and procedures and ensuring the availability of necessary technical resources.

Responsibilities :
The responsibilities of the Technology Coordinator will include, but are not limited to, the following :
General Responsibilities
- Actively seeks out ways to leverage the integration of business processes with applicable emerging technologies in order to improve and streamline operations and services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Provides recommendations to promote a sustainable technology framework and coordinate related systems.
- Follows a plan for professional development and actively seeks out opportunities to maintain technological competency.
End User Support
- Maintain hardware and software for desktops, laptops, printers and copiers.
- Basic and advanced support for both hardware and software for all areas of technology, including standard applications (MS Office, Web Browsers, Claris iWork Suite, Adobe, Sopos, etc.
including installation and update.
- Aid in Faculty / Staff / Student training and workshops, with occasional student training and support in the classroom.
- Digital Copiers / Printers : set up and maintain user network accounts for printing & copying, maintain network connectivity, manage consumable supplies (toner, staples & paper), and coordinate service.
- Manage loaner pool of multimedia equipment & special setups, typically 3-6 events a year.
- Maintain multimedia projectors, touch panel displays, Apple TVs, sound systems and integration with desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
- Work closely with colleagues and technology partners to support the server and network infrastructure, including multiple wireless networks.
- Co-Administer on-site and cloud based Servers : Manage server OS and user administration, File Sharing, Faculty / Staff / Student Accounts, Print server w / monitoring & control, Ensure licenses are up to date and appropriate for organization.
- Support Network Communications : Cisco ASA Firewall, Managed Switches, Wi-Fi Infrastructure, Internet / Intranet filtering, DNS (internal / external).
- Coordinate and address needs related to telephone and other vendor services such as copiers, and telephone / fax lines.
- Emergency after hours support (rare, but possible).
Qualifications / Position Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; degree in the field of computer science desirable.
- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience, with a preference for experience in educational institutions preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge in tablet and other mobile technologies.
- Familiarity with Macintosh Servers, Mac & Wintel Client OS's, and Apple's iOS platform (strongly preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills, especially in an education environment. Customer service oriented.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Ability to train users and communicate procedures and changes related to technology.
- Hands-on experience in network & server administration using Open Directory network and user management (or Active Directory).
- Strong knowledge of computers, networking principles including wireless networks, troubleshooting PC connectivity and printer issues.
- Knowledge of networking (wired & wireless), servers, mobile devices and communication hardware, software and current technologies.
- Have a working knowledge of software in a wide range of technologies, including, but not limited to, multimedia / audio, video, web, photos / images, and core software tools, such as office productivity suites, note taking, communications, etc.

Environment :
- Office (shared space w / Technology Integrator) equipped with the necessary tools to perform job functions.
- Work in classrooms with teachers / students, before / during / after class hours to maintain classroom technology.
- 12 month position w / Daily work hours : 7 : 30am - 4 : 00pm, Monday-Friday.
- In house and professional training provided, when required.
- Outside professional development available upon request.
