We are searching for an experienced LEAD MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER with a strong PROJECT / PROGRAM background in the aerospace, aviation, defense, or space sectors.

In this highly visible position, you will report directly to the VP of Programs & Engineering and manage full life cycle project / program activities for their critical defense product portfolio .
Responsibilities to include :
- Hands-on leader experienced with managing critical / complex PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS used in both Commercial and Defense applications.
- Lead mechanical engineering initiatives & manage a couple project engineers on custom designs of critical / complex components.
- Able to run programs full life cycle; capture, develop, schedule, mitigate risks, costs, testing, and delivery.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Customers on technical requirements and contribute to the proposal & capture.
- Lead R&D for NPD (design & development) proof of concept designs, cost estimates, materials, test
REQUIREMENTS :
- Strong Technical Engineering background specific to MECHANICAL components / parts or solutions used in aerospace / aviation products (structures, components, fix wing, rotorcraft, VTOL etec)
- Ability to manage programs' full life cycle & collaborate with various departments across all disciplines throughout the organization.
- Minimal travels to other facilities & divisions, customer sites, suppliers, as needed.
- BS Engineering or similar Technical Degree
- US Citizenship (eligibility for a DoD clearance is a PLUS)
